Shear Genius Hair Salon is founded in professionalism, respect, and honesty, from the managers, to the salon artists, and most importantly, to you. It is Shear Genius' role to both listen to and understand each unique client, their visions, and their personality. As well as to provide each, no matter their cultural background or how they identify, a comfortable experience.

To further ensure the best experience for each individual, Shear Genius Hair Salon prides itself in prioritizing artist training and continued education. All artist training follows top-in-industry education and techniques so that you can feel confident that all artists provide a consistently quality experience and are knowledgable on current trends and styles.

OWNER, MANAGER & STYLIST

The Shear Genius Hair Salon is owned and operated by Ken Lucido. Settling in the Richmond area in 1998, Ken owned and operated his own successful salon for over 16 years. After selling his business, taking on an industry change and relocation to Florida, Ken is back in Richmond ready to blend his experience and skills to make you look and feel like the best version of yourself. With over 20 years of experience, his energetic passion for hair has kept him on the forefront of the latest and most creative styles and trends, including Hair Coloring, Precision Hair Cutting and Brazilian Blowouts. Ken prides himself in providing a warm, friendly, relaxing and hip environment for people from all walks of life at The Shear Genius Hair Salon.

When Ken is not working, you can find him traveling and spending time with his family.

ANGELA CONTE

OWNER & MANAGER

As a Virginia Beach resident for over 30 years, Angela has been alongside her husband to help him run and operate his successful family business. She has now decided it's time to venture into her own business journey. In partnering with Ken Lucido, The Shear Genius Hair Salon was created. With over 20 years of experience in Business and Financial Management, in retail and service industries, as well as in non-profit organizations, Angela strives for excellent customer service and puts customer satisfaction as her top priority. She believes the key to any successful business is having an amazing team of employees with the love and support of family, friends, and clients who encourage you to transcend all boundaries. She prides herself in offering nothing short of a relaxing ambiance and the highest quality of salon services at The Shear Genius Hair Salon @ Innsbrook!

When Angela is not working, she enjoys her time on the beach, traveling to new places and spending time with her husband, David and their two children, Christiana and Luca.

KRIS MEADOR

STYLIST

Krissy is compassionate, fun-loving and with 20 years of experience behind the chair, knows how to make every client feel like the best version of themselves. She specializes in Keratin Smoothing treatments and a wide range of color services. Being a curly girl herself, she also specializes in haircutting techniques for all textured hair types while teaching her guests how to maintain a tamed, frizz-free look. In Krissy's free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, doting on her fur babies and digging around in her garden.

LESLIE CASTILLO

STYLIST

Hi, I’m Leslie Castillo, and I have 14+ years of experience in the beauty industry. From barbering to a variety of different color techniques, I use the skills and knowledge that I have gathered through the years to help you recreate the vision or to just find the style that is undeniably your own according to your lifestyle. I truly enjoy making a difference in my clients hair and helping them to achieve that desired look they are aiming to have! When I’m not working I love to workout, cook, and escape away from the city to the mountains.

JESSICA POWNALL

STYLIST

With years of experience, Jessica has earned the reputation as a Color and Blonding Specialist. Not only does she have an eye for the perfect blonde, she also loves to create natural looking lived in looks. A passion for making your vision a reality, Jessica loves to partake in every type of hair cutting, from precision, point to dry cutting techniques and Blowouts are an absolute personal favorite. Always eager to learn, she prioritizes her education and has been trained by Vidal Sassoon, Paul Mitchell and Redken just to name a few. Jessica takes pride in every detail from the moment you sit in her chair to when you are walking out the door, she wants you to feel and look your absolute best!
