It is Shear Genius' role to both listen to and understand each unique client, their visions, and their personality. The Shear Genius Hair Salon is owned and operated by Ken Lucido. Settling in the Richmond area in 1998, Ken owned and operated his own successful salon for over 16 years. After selling his business, taking on an industry change and relocation to Florida, Ken is back in Richmond ready to blend his experience and skills to make you look and feel like the best version of yourself. With over 20 years of experience, his energetic passion for hair has kept him on the forefront of the latest and most creative styles and trends, including Hair Coloring, Precision Hair Cutting and Brazilian Blowouts. Ken prides himself in providing a warm, friendly, relaxing and hip environment for people from all walks of life at The Shear Genius Hair Salon.
When Ken is not working, you can find him traveling and spending time with his family.
ANGELA CONTE
Owner & Manager
As a Virginia Beach resident for over 30 years, Angela has been alongside her husband to help him run and operate his successful family business. She has now decided it's time to venture into her own business journey. In partnering with Ken Lucido, The Shear Genius Hair Salon was created. With over 20 years of experience in Business and Financial Management, in retail and service industries, as well as in non-profit organizations, Angela strives for excellent customer service and puts customer satisfaction as her top priority. She believes the key to any successful business is having an amazing team of employees with the love and support of family, friends, and clients who encourage you to transcend all boundaries. She prides herself in offering nothing short of a relaxing ambiance and the highest quality of salon services at The Shear Genius Hair Salon @ Innsbrook!
When Angela is not working, she enjoys her time on the beach, traveling to new places and spending time with her husband, David and their two children, Christiana and Luca.
KRIS MEADOR
STYLIST
Krissy is compassionate, fun-loving and with 20 years of experience behind the chair, knows how to make every client feel like the best version of themselves. She specializes in Keratin Smoothing treatments and a wide range of color services. Being a curly girl herself, she also specializes in haircutting techniques for all textured hair types while teaching her guests how to maintain a tamed, frizz-free look. In Krissy's free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, doting on her fur babies and digging around in her garden.
RHETT COSTELLO
STYLIST
With over 35 years of experience and making customers happy, Rhett clearly defines how his talent and work can completely change not just your look, but also how you feel about yourself. When you visit his chair, you will receive a consultation for a fresh new look, a comfortable lived in look or simply a well maintained hairstyle that you were expecting when you walked in the door. Rhett has an eye for detail and a perfection with style allowing him to accommodate almost anyone or any style. With over 20 years of experience Jessica is a Blonding & extension specialist. Always eager to learn, she prioritizes her education, getting trained by Vidal Sassoon, Paul Mitchell, Redken & many more. I also love partaking in every type of hair cutting, from precision, point to dry cutting techniques and Blowouts are also a personal favorite. She takes pride in every detail from the moment you sit in her chair to when you’re walking out the door, Jessica is a stylist who truly cares & wants you to both feel & look your absolute best.
PAYTON DEVINE
STYLIST
Payton is a stylist with 4 years of expertise and is passionate about color. She's dedicated to making her clients feel comfortable and confident, helping them embrace their unique style. She specializes in lived-in color and continuously expands her skills through ongoing education. When she's not in the salon, you can find her exploring Richmond with her friends. Payton is caring and bubbly, and is committed to providing a personalized and enjoyable experience tailored to your individual needs.

FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST
Angel is kind, sweet and is always willing to lend a helping hand when need be. She has grown up around hair ever since she was a little girl due to her mom being a cosmetologist in the hair industry. Angel loves trying new things and exploring the outdoors in her free time.
